Licensing Fees and Charges This report seeks approval from Members for the specified proposed fees and charges to come into effect from 1 April 2023. Additional documents: Minutes: Upon the invitation of the Chair, the Environmental Health Team Manager presented the report which sought Committee approval for specified proposed fees and charges to come into effect from 1 April 2023. It was noted that several processes undertaken by the licensing function were chargeable and that fees and charges were annually reviewed to ensure that they were set at the correct level and calculated considering relevant statute and guidance. A typographical error in the proposed fees schedule [on page 13 of the agenda pack] was brought to the attention of Members, the recommended charge for a new licence for hiring out horses should have read ‘484’ rather than ‘284’ as printed. The Chair sought clarity on how often the fees were reviewed if calculated on a cost recovery basis given the current economic climate. The Environmental Health Team Manager responded that it was considered most appropriate for fees to be reviewed on an annual basis in order to level them out and avoid them fluctuating throughout the year. The recommendation was then proposed by Councillor Blanchard-Cooperand seconded by Councillor Clayden.
The Committee
RESOLVED
That the licensing fees set out in appendix 1 be approved to be effective from 1 April 2023. |
